The Northern Hemisphere has 76% of the world's population, 98% of the worlds industry and many environmental disasters (i.e.Chernobyl) which has polluted all water reservoirs in the
Northern Hemisphere. So when it comes to
bottled water the Southern Hemisphere (
see map) is where the best
water is.
All bottled mineral waters that come from the Earth's surface, be they from a spring water or a municipal water supply, like a dam or river, they ALL need to be treated before human consumption.
Unfortunately filtration process does not discriminate. It removes both beneficial and detrimental minerals. To the point that some waters need minerals artificially added. Often cleaning processes using chemicals such as Fluoride and Chloride can not be filtered out.
However, Tasmania's Cape Grim bottled water is harvested from the rain on Cape Grim which falls through pristine air before the Earth's atmosphere can pollute it.
